Card Counting Systems

Card counting works by tracking the ratio of high to low cards remaining in the shoe. When more high cards (10s and Aces) remain, the player has an advantage. Here are the six systems we support, from beginner to advanced.

How Card Counting Works

1. Running Count

As each card is dealt, add its assigned value to your running total. Start at 0 for balanced systems. For unbalanced systems like KO, start at -4 x number of decks.

2. True Count

Divide the running count by the estimated number of decks remaining in the shoe. This normalizes the count across different shoe depths. Example: RC +6 with 3 decks left = TC +2.

3. Bet Sizing

Increase bets when the true count is +2 or higher (player advantage). Bet minimum when the count is +1 or lower. The higher the count, the larger the bet.

Hi-Lo

Understanding the Metrics

Betting Correlation (BC): How well the system predicts favorable betting situations. Higher BC means more accurate bet sizing. Most important for multi-deck shoe games.
Playing Efficiency (PE): How well the system helps you make correct playing decisions (deviations from basic strategy). More important for single and double-deck games.
Insurance Correlation (IC): How accurately the system predicts when insurance is a profitable bet (when the dealer shows an Ace).
